Cheryl Malbreau-Barnes

Mrs. Cheryl Von Malbreau-Barnes of Port Arthur died Saturday, May 28, 2016. Cheryl was a 1984 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Cheryl was an independent contractor as a cosmetologist for many years. She was employed by Dillard’s and JCPenney’s for many years. Cheryl’s passion was Mary Kay cosmetics, which she was a loyal representative/consultant. She was also honored as being crowned Miss Juneteenth 1984/1985.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Leona Tebo; father, Clemon C. Malbreau II, and sister, Katherine Cobb.

She leaves to cherish her husband of 24 years, Henry Barnes; mother, Kay Francis of Port Arthur, TX; three sons, Christopher Fontenot, Calvin Barnes, and Jonathan Barnes all of Port Arthur, TX; one grandson, Rico Fontenot of Port Arthur, TX; four brothers John Cobb of New Iberia, LA; Kevin Cobb of Houston, TX; Nathan Malbreau of Lake Charles, LA; and Clemon C. Malbreau III of Port Arthur, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Procter Street, Port Arthur, TX. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. at East Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
