Margaret Sable O’Pry Corbin

Margaret Sable O’Pry Corbin, 87, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. She was born on January 24, 1929, in China, to Mary Arvina Borque O’Pry and Joseph Eula O’Pry.

Sable worked thirty-eight years for Jefferson County Tax Office. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, and traveling. Sable was a member of the Omicron Chapter of Delta Rho Delta Women’s Sorority.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Sharon Macha, Freddie O’Pry, Peggy Plummer, Terre Wood, Kimberle Frost, and Kevin O’Pry; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; her angel, her sister-in-law, Iva O’Pry; and a host of her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Kevin Zane Maltba; sister, Rena Goins; brothers, Freddy O’Pry and Frank O’Pry.

A gathering of Ms. Corbin’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with her Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3706 Woodrow Drive, Port Arthur, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
