Motorcyclist injured after SUV driver failed to yield

A motorcyclist is being treated for serious injuries after he struck an SUV that failed to yield right of way Monday morning.

The two-vehicle crash happened about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Texas 105 and Keith Road in Jefferson County.

A person driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on Texas 195 and an SUV was traveling north on Keith Road and came to a stop at the intersection. The driver of the SUV failed to yield and pulled out in front of the motorcycle causing the bike to collide with the driver’s side of the SUV, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. At this time the extent of injuries sustained by the SUV driver are not known.

Troopers are still investigating the crash and all information is preliminary.
