Allen Ray Tournear

Allen Ray Tournear , 72, formerly of Orange, TX died at 2:33 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 in Quincy, IL at his home.

Al was born June 29, 1943 in Quincy, IL to Ralph and Zelma Tournear.  Al enjoyed playing cards, and going to the horse races.  He also loved listening to country music and sharing the music with others.  Al was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and was a former Quincy Blue Devil baseball player.

Al was employed by Howard’s Diesel & Repair Service in Port Arthur, TX for over 38 years as a Diesel Mechanic and Shop Foreman.  Previous to Howard’s, Al was employed by the Texas/Louisiana Longhorn Club as Head of Security and as an employee of B&B Ice.

Al was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford Tournear and Roy Tournear; two sisters, Helen Tournear and Dorothy Wells.

Al is survived by two daughters, Wendy Buckley (Rod) of Quincy, IL and Kim Hensley (Rick) of Weir, KS; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Pelas of Louisiana and Norma Motes of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at The Heritage Hall at the First Baptist Church in Groves, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas.
