Phillip Samuel Loyacano, 85, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Phillip was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur; born on January 14, 1931 to parents Pauline (Colletti) and Joseph Loyacano. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. Phillip retires from Texaco after 43 years of employment as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church for many years. Phillip was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Myrtle Ann (Meyer) Loyacano of Port Arthur; sons, Phillip Joseph Loyacano of Groves, Mark James Loyacano and wife, Laurie of Port Arthur, Joseph Loyacano of Port Neches; daughter, Cynthia Ann Stamps and husband, Ricky of Katy, Sandra Marie Loyacano of Port Arthur and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Sam Loyacano, of Port Neches; sisters, Rosie Whorton of Port Neches and Paula Willis of Spring.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10 am at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the loving memory of Phillip Loyacano to St. Catherine Catholic Church or St. Catherine Catholic School.
