Steven Gene Pelt, 54, of Houston, Texas, formally of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Friday, April 1, 2016. Steven was born October 26, 1961 in Port Arthur to Billy H. Pelt and Virginia Gongora Pelt. At the time of Steven’s unexpected passing he was employed with Memorial Hermann Health System as a laboratory technician at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital. He was a dedicated and a hard working employee. Steven was a kind and gentle person who had a heart of gold. He was loyal to his friends and loved his family.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Billy H. Pelt and partner, Steve Bourgeois. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Pelt; brother Jeffery Alan and his wife Audrey; sister, Vickie Lynn Allen; nieces, Ashley Nunez, Falan Pelt, Kyleigh and Hannah Robin. Steven is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Vigil was held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, the family received friends and relatives from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Steven will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, with interment to be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
