Edna Louise Godbold

Edna Louise Godbold, 94, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care in Nederland, Texas.

Louise was born October 22, 1921 to Ernest T. Brewer and Inez Williams Brewer. She was a resident of Port Arthur for 64 years and retired from the City of Port Arthur Administrative Department.

Louise was a fine Christian woman who touched many lives, and gave through her gift of music. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, and was their organist. She also played the organ for Trinity Baptist Church for a total of 63 years in the music ministry.

Her loves included Campmeeting, exercising, shopping, playing dominos with the “Golden Agers”, watching game shows, her three sisters and all of her family.

Louise was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ray Godbold.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Goodwin and her husband Bill of New Braunfels, TX; son, Loyd Godbold and his wife Stella of Tomball, TX; three sisters, Julia Lee White of Summit, MS, Vivian Reeves of Summit, MS, and Marie Allen of Groves, TX; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jeremy Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Reeves Cemetery in Summit, MS.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from6:00 p.m.8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
