GROVES — A Groves man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm during a home invasion burglary Wednesday morning.
Groves City Marshal Norman Reynolds Jr. said the homeowner and his wife were asleep at their home in the 5600 block of Georgia Avenue at around 1 a.m. Jan. 13 when two black males wearing hoodies and bandanas covering their face entered the room.
Both intruders were armed with pistols.
The male homeowner got out of bed and approached one of the men and was shot in the arm. The suspects then fled the home.
The homeowner is recovering from the shooting and is expected to recover.
“We’re confident this was not a random incident,” Reynolds said.
No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
