Port Arthur Memorial senior Jakeira Ford reported on Twitter Monday she has a torn ACL.

That same day, her coach announced that she earned a nomination for a spot in the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Game.

Ford suffered the injury in a 46-31 Lady Titans win over Baytown Sterling on Friday. The senior is committed to play college basketball at Texas-El Paso.

Memorial coach Kevin Henry said the team is still waiting for results from a MRI test.

McDonald’s has released a full list of nominees for the All American Games, which will be played March 30 at the United Center in Chicago. The final rosters of 24 boys and 24 girls will be revealed Sunday during the Games’ selection show on ESPNU, broadcast from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Ford is among 111 Texans nominated to play in Chicago.

“The 755 high school seniors nominated for the McDonald’s All American Games are the best representation of high school basketball talent in the country,” selection committee chairman Morgan Wootten said in a relase. “From Hawaii to Alaska to Maine, we are thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments. We know it will be a very difficult, but fun task to select the final 24 girls and 24 boys players later this month.”

The games annually benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.
