John “Johnny” Wilford Adaway, 74, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at his home.

He was born on July 23, 1941 to Agnes Abshire Adaway and Edgar Adaway in Beaumont, Texas. Johnny was a lifelong resident of the area. He retired as an Electrician after 50 years of service. He was affiliated with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Willis E. Adaway, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Ayala Adaway of Port Arthur, his sons, Kevin Adaway of Angleton, Texas, John Adaway of Port Arthur, Jason Adaway of Port Arthur, step-son, James Fields of Texas, two step-daughters, Dana Azar of Houston and Lisa Bakker of Port Arthur along with 8 grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Myra of Louisiana along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park
