Freddie Whitley

Freddie Whitley, 83, died peacefully on November 15, 2015 after complications associated with Parkinson’s disease.  He was convalescing in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex area near his children.
Freddie was born on January 2, 1932 in Washington, Texas to the late Eddie and Louvenia Whitley. He married Rona Catherine Jones in 1957 and remained her life partner until death. Together they raised four children.
Freddie is survived by his immediate loved ones including his wife, Rona; his children Eddy Whitley of Kansas City, MO, Freddy Whitley of Arlington, TX, Dr. Mona Whitley of Grand Prairie, TX, and Gery Whitley of Port Arthur, TX; his granddaughters Aisha Scotto Di Carlo; Chelsea Whitley, Taylor Whitley, and Grace Whitley; his grandsons Charles Mitchell, David Mitchell and Andrew Mitchell. He is preceded in death by his sister Tommie Dell (Whitley) Allen, and brothers Willie Whitley, Arthur Whitley, Accie Lee Whitley; and his parents.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 821 Freeman Avenue, Port Arthur, TX.  All are welcome to attend, and a reception will follow. Freddie will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas during a private family ceremony.  All services are arranged by Gabriel Funeral Home of Port Arthur, Texas.
