Nederland EDC chief completes community resilience program

Kay DeCuir, Executive Director of the Nederland Economic Development Corporation, completed the Executive Track of the University of Oklahoma Resilience Development Institute on October 22, 2015 at the OU ReDI Inaugural Fall Institute held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

OU ReDI is an intensive week long, three-tier program which provides a broad spectrum of advanced education for professionals invested in building resilience in their community or region. OU ReDI Chairman David Dodd said, “As the premier organization dedicated to training professionals resilience strategies, I am very pleased with this year’s attendees. They represent some of the finest resilience practitioners in the U.S. working to support their local communities. They are visionaries, years ahead in building communities and organizations that are able to mitigate the impact of a disaster or impactful event and bounce back sooner.”

The mission of the Resilience Development Institute (ReDI) is to inform and equip leaders and professionals at all levels to integrate the principles of community resilience into their day-to-day activities with the expectation of enhancing their management of and responsiveness to risk. The OU ReDI executive track focuses on critical concepts in community resilience, strategic communication, risk assessments, recovery, and funding resilience.
