Bum Phillips Bowl featured live, also taped in full tonight

Fans of the Bum Phillips Bowl and the excitement of Mid-County Madness have several chances to catch the buzz on television.

Fox Sports Southwest will have live cut-ins from the game between Nederland and Port Neches-Groves on its “Friday Night Football” show with Jeff Powers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Port Neches.

Then, on Time Warner Cable channel 323 at 11 p.m., the station will broadcast a replay of the entire game. This year’s broadcast will have play-by-play by former Houston Cougars radio voice Tom Franklin. Color commentary is to be done by former “Port Arthur News Friday Night Experience” voice Charlie Jehlen.

Fox Sports Southwest plans to air its piece “Mid-County Madness: The Bum Phillips Bowl” at 5:30 p.m. today. The 30-minute piece has played twice this week and has picked up great reviews.
