Lucie Jane Whitlock

Lucie Jane Allis Goodin Sladczyk Whitlock died at the age of 85 on October 7, 2015 at Rose Place in Port Neches Texas.
Jane was born on January 6, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas to Frances and Richard C. Allis.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. She also earned a Licensed Vocational Nurse certificate from Lamar University.
Jane was a longtime member of the Port Arthur Service League. She was a very active member of the Port Arthur Historical Society where she served on the Board of Directors. Jane volunteered as a docent at the Museum of the Gulf Coast and at the Pompeiian Villa in Port Arthur. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as Regent of the Port Arthur Chapter and as a docent at White Haven. She belonged to Westminster Presbyterian Church and later served as a Deacon at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
Jane is survived by her husband, E. M. Whitlock of Port Neches, her daughter, Miriam Kellogg of San Antonio, and her son, Clint Goodin and his wife Diane of Austin, Texas. She has four grandchildren, Capt. Joseph Kellogg, and Ann Claire Fletcher of San Antonio, Katherine Allis Goodin of Seattle, and Richard Clinton Goodin of Austin. She is also survived by one great grandson, Johnny Fletcher of San Antonio.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved only sister, Francis Allis David of Orange, Texas.
There will be a visitation for the family and friends at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 between 2:00-3:00 PM. A memorial service will start at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Per her wishes she will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the Port Arthur Historical Society or any charity of your choice.
