Willie Mae Harris, a native of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Advanced Quality Assisted Living Home under the care of Memorial Hermann Hospice in Houston, Texas.  She was a retired teacher and touched young lives in the Port Arthur ISD, the West Orange Cove Consolidated School District, and the Baton Rouge Parish School System.  Ms. Harris was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and a sister of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Progressive Missionary Baptist church with Rev. Walter Allen officiating.  The family will receive friends at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
She leaves behind a host of cherished family members and friends.
