Robert Allen French

Robert Allen French, 85, of Nederland died Thursday, September 24, 2015. He was born on August 16, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to Emma Erickson and Earl French.
Robert was a United States Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier after forty-four years of service. Robert was a member of Nederland Masonic Lodge 1370 A.F. He was an avid golfer and loved animals.
Survivors include his daughter, Paula French Hebert and her husband, Glenn, of Port Arthur; sons, Robert Earl French of Sherman and Mark Allen French of Nederland; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-five years, Gloria French; and sister, Ethel Phillips.
A gathering of Mr. French’s family and friends will be 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 104 North 13th Street, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
