Tommy Lige Welch, 63, of Hamshire, Texas passed away on September 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 8, 1952 to Hazel Dupont Welch and Lige Welch in Port Arthur, Texas. Tommy was raised in Sabine Pass before moving to LaBelle for a number of years. He has been a resident of Hamshire for over 30 years. Tommy was a cargo inspector and a musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Dorothy Pelligrin and Margie Lee, his son, Lance Corporal Christopher Welch.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joan O’Quinn Welch of Hamshire, his three sons, Chad Welch of Seattle, Washington, Cameron Welch and Chase Welch both of Hamshire, one granddaughter, Peyton Welch, his sister, Larrie Welch Elms of Nederland, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 24, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
