Carrie Nell Williams

Carrie Nell Williams, 79 of Port Arthur, Texas went home to meet the Lord on September 14, 2015.  She was born in Franklin, Louisiana on October 7, 1935 to Mrs. Mary Madison and Mr. Charlie Coleman.  She was a faithful member of First Sixth Street Baptist Church for over 50 years.  Until her illness in 2007, Nell served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board, the Senior Choir, the Sarah Circle, and the Pastor’s Aide.  She was also a member of the City Wide Ushers Board.  Nell enjoyed working as an Experienced Corp volunteer in PAISD for several years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Williams, mother, Mary Carter, father, Charlie Coleman, sisters, Geraldine Hull, Emma Dell Stewart, and Joyce Breaux, and brothers, Willie (Bill) James Carter, and Johnell Carter.  She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Lessie Davis, and two brothers, Curtis and Arnold Ray Carter.  Nell enjoyed life with her children and grandchildren.  Nell also leaves two daughters, Terral Andrews and Felicia Smith, and two sons, Dallas (Judith), and James (Jeanella) Smith.  She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 18th at First Sixth Street Baptist Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Funeral services are set for Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m. at First Sixth Street Baptist Church with Rev. Thurman Bartie officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
