Darwin “Woody” Wood, 70, of Fannett passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

He was born on September 6, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Douglas and Georgia Landry Fagg.

“Woody” was a lifelong area resident and member of First Baptist Church of Hamshire.

He had retired as a boilermaker and welder and was a member of the Boilermaker Local #587 and the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.

“Woody” enjoyed fishing and woodworking, but most of all he loved and cherished playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His main objective in life was to help everyone he encountered. “Woody” was never heard complaining about anything.

Everytime you told him you loved him….he would always respond with “more”!

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Hamshire with Reverend Blaine McFarlin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

“Woody” is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marlene Wood of Fannett, two daughters, Kim Wood Schroeter of Fannett, and Paula Wood Davis and husband, John III of Fannett, two sisters, Sharon Vicknair of Beaumont, and Mary Abney and husband, David of Clarksville, TN, three brothers, William Rayon and wife, Joy of Devers, TX, Douglas Fagg, Jr. of Winnie, TX, and Johnny Mac Fagg and wife, Denise of Manassas, VA, nine grandchildren, Shelby Clodfelter and husband, Gavin, Erin Schroeter, Hunter Davis, John Davis, IV, Morgan Davis, Will Rwin Davis, Nikki Rice and husband, Jared, Robert Castilaw, Jr. and wife, Samantha, and Arika Talbot and husband, Jeff, and seven great grandchildren, Dakota, Toryn, Kaydence, Aubree, Kooper, Kaison, and Trace.
