Jeffery died following a heart attack at his home in Stafford, Texas August 21, 2015 while with his wife, Brenda. They were married for nearly 35 years and made their home in Stafford during this time.
Jeffery had lived in Groves, attended Port Neches – Groves schools and was a 1970 graduate of PN-G.
Among his enterprises was a tropical fish store, an automobile repair shop, and a boat storage garage in Freeport, Texas. He also was a carpenter and home building and repair contractor. His favorite occupation was a goose and duck hunting guide service.
Jeffery was a player – manager several years for Houston area Men’s softball teams. Another hobby was scuba diving.
He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Domingue; brother, David Bertrand III; sons, Jacob and Jeremy Bertrand and a niece, Melissa Wilcox.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Bertrand; father, David L. Bertrand, Jr. and wife Polly; sister, Deborah Fuselier; step-daughter’s family Dawn, Hector, Jesse and Christopher Martinez; and grandchildren, Sean, Joseph, Alec Jeffery, Michael, Tristin, Brooke and David A. Bertrand.
