Anna Mae Ellender, 82, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was born on September 17, 1932 to Marie Lacombe Doucet and Paul Doucet, Sr. in Port Barre, Louisiana. Anna Mae has been a resident of Groves for over 46 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul “June” Doucet and his wife, Betty Jean.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Ward of Groves, daughters, Faye Hoyt and her husband, Dale of Groves, Debbie Johnson of Port Arthur, her sons, Kenny Ellender of Toledo Bend, Ricky Ellender and his wife, Mary, Dwaine Ellender all of Sulphur, Louisiana, Larry Ward and his wife, Anita, Roger Ward and his wife, June and Johnny Ward all of Port Arthur, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren along with one nephew and two nieces.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to give a special thanks to The Medical Center of SE Texas ICU and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care for Anna.
