Tamera Shantel Willis

Tamera Shantel Willis was born to the Union of Shan and Shandra Willis on March 25, 2004 in the evergreen state Tacoma, Washington at Madigan Army Medical Center (Fort Lewis Washington).
God gifted Tamera to a soldier who was designated to be her strong protector, provider, and serve as her father along with a loving, nurturing, and attentive mother.
Tamera was very active in school and her extra curricular activities which included gymnastics, cheer, swim, and Tae Kwon Do. She was also a member of Central Middle School National Junior Honor Society.  She was an avid reader, artist, and baker.  Tamera loved to dance and sing and was always ready for the next celebration.
During her earthly journey, Tamera served as an inspiration to her family, friends, and strangers alike.  She used her own personal trials as strength to support others.
Preceding her in death was her great grandmother Mary Louise Shield. Two uncles; Howard Willis and John Jennings and one aunt; Carrie Jennings.
Tamera is survived by her father and mother, Shandra and Shan Willis. Two  sisters; Iman Dashai Willis and Shamaya Denee Willis.  Grandparents; Zecharyah and Salihah Shearyahshub, Martha Jean Willis, Oliver Otis Short and Pamula Henderson Short. Three aunts, Dr. Angel Murphy (Pedro), Tabitha Evans (Jourious); Jaleesa Willis; Two uncles, Carroll Lewis Jr. (Priscilla) and Tracy Rosebud (and wife). Cousins, Tre’Vaughn, Tracy Jr, Tradarius, Jacari, Aisia, Sanayah, Zahlyn, Xyon, Nuriah, Tanya, La’Zarreia, and a host of great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Homegoing celebration will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 548 15th Street, Port Arthur, TX with a viewing from 11 a.m. until service time.  Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
