William “Mr. Bill” C. Irion, Sr.

William “Mr. Bill” C. Irion, Sr., 69, of Nederland, died Thursday, August 20, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, he was born on January 30, 1946, in Port Arthur, to Cleo Harvey and Charles Wade Irion.
William spent his life serving others. He worked for the fire department, law enforcement, paramedic, and worked more than twenty years as a License Vocational Nurse before retiring.  William was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and Methodist Men’s Spirit Sunday School Class. He volunteered at Gentiva Hospice. William enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn P. Irion of Nederland; sons, Will Irion and his wife, Ashley and Preston Irion and his wife, Kathy, all of Silsbee; and Charles Irion of Nederland; daughters, Wendy Hawkins and her husband, Keith, of Silsbee and Crystal Jones of Lumberton; step-son, Tom Pennington and his wife, Jamie, of Justin; step-daughter, Jennifer Taylor and her husband, Mitchel, of McLean; sister, Kay Hall and her husband, Les, of Beaumont; brother, Andy Derese and his wife, Vicki, of Fannett; grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Austin, Devon, Sage, Jaydon, Baily, Tres, Jacie, Garrett, P.J., Caleb, and Blake; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A gathering of Mr. Irion’s family and friends will be at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
