Danny Leyendecker

Danny Leyendecker, 63, of Groves, died Friday, August 14, 2015. He was born on June 25, 1952, in Corsicana, Texas, to Francis Marie Dowd and Earl William Leyendecker, and had been a resident of the area most of his life.
Danny enjoyed gardening, reading, and woodworking. He was a farrier throughout his life. Danny was active in the local Baptist churches, and volunteered at the local food pantry. He served six years in the United States Navy. Danny attended Lamar University, Alvin Community College, and later Lamar Institute of Technology for his Occupational Health and Safety degree.
He is survived by his sons, Kyle Leyendecker and Brett Leyendecker, both of Groves; sister, Cathy Fregia and her husband, Billy; brothers, Dennis Leyendecker and his wife, Carolyn, of Buna and Donnie Leyendecker of Port Arthur; and several nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service for Mr. Leyendecker will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at R.S. Farmer Cemetery, 415 North 4th Street, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
