Margaret Payton, 89, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away surrounded by loved ones in her home August 8, 2015.  She was born on July 27, 1926 in Wharton, Texas to William and Lula King.  Margaret was retired from MHMR.  She later volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by one daughter Margretta Jones; one brother William King, Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in the death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Rock Island Baptist Church with a visitation from 12 noon until service time.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
