Christus Hospital – St. Mary had a scare Thursday morning after a man went into the facility’s emergency room lobby holding a briefcase and claiming to have “a message for America.”
Port Arthur police were called to the hospital, where they took the man, who is believed to be a mental patient, into custody for a psychiatric evaluation.
PAPD reported  the briefcase was empty, and that police officers have dealt with the man in the past, Beaumont Channel 12 News reported.
