FM 1006 near DuPont in Orange County reopened after two-crar crash

ORANGE — All lanes of FM 1006 in Orange County have reopened after a two vehicle head-on collision at approximately 9 a.m. in front of the DuPont plant caused all lanes to be closed.
A white Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on FM 1006.  For an unknown reason, the driver of the Ford truck crossed the center dividing line and collided head-on with a black Chevrolet pickup truck.  Due to the impact, the driver of the Ford pickup truck was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted.  After being removed from the vehicle, the female driver was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries to her lower extremities.  The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet pickup truck were transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.
At 10 a.m., all lanes of FM 1006 at the DuPont plant were closed.  The roadway was closed until all crash debris was safely removed from the road.
