Robert “Bob” Garner

Robert “Bob” Garner, 92, of Nederland, died Saturday, July 4, 2015. He was born on August 25, 1922, in Athens, to Molly Patton and Charlie Garner.
Bob was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1940 to 1945. He retired from Texaco as a Lab Technician after thirty-seven years of service. Bob was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Port Arthur. He enjoyed dominoes, walking at the mall, and working in his garden.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Bobbie Lee and her husband, Kent, of Nederland; granddaughters, Devin Wade of Vidor and Morgan LaBove and her husband, Ross, of Houston; great-grandson, Spencer Wade; and nephew, Larry Thomas and his wife, Terry, of Elkhart.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Molly Garner; wife of fifty-seven years, Jimmie Garner; wife, Sadie Garner; special friend, Betty Bell; parents, Charlie and Ovell Garner; and sister, Ruth Thomas.
A gathering of Mr. Garner’s family and friends was held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
