Petra Aguilar, 86, passed away the 4th of July, 2015 at Mid Jefferson Extended Care Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Petra was born in Port Arthur, Texas.  She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1947. Petra was employed by Amelia’s Drapery Shop behind La Suprema Mexican Restaurant.  Petra volunteered for the Pink Ladies Auxillary at Mid Jefferson Hospital. She was a devoted member of St. Charles and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where she served as a member of St. Vincent De Paul, OLG Senior Club and Alter Society.
Petra is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Patrick Aguilar; daughters, (Pat)ricia Munoz and husband Cesar, Mary Aguilar; son, Glenn Aguilar. Granddaughter, Tina Legendre and husband Scott.  She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita Teran of Georgia, Ana Babineaux of Mauriceville, Jesucita Garcia of Groves, Delores Menard of Port Arthur, and Beatrice Scarborough of Lumberton; brother Luis Ybarra, Jr. of Pasadena and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Maria Ybarra and sister Simona Rosas
The family will receive friends and relatives, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3648 S/Sgt Lucian Adams Dr., Port Arthur, Tx 77642. Rite of Committal will follow at Memory Gardens.
