George Heman Fussell

George Heman Fussell, 83, of Nederland, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was born on August 31, 1931, in Lewiston, Louisiana, to Alice Mae Lambert and Heman Pierce Fussell.
George loved fishing in Lake Sabine and enjoyed watching most sports, especially Astros baseball. He enjoyed traveling; he was ready to go anywhere. George sang in the church choir and walked the mall most mornings. Most of all he loved spending time with family. He retired from Chevron in 1988 after thirty-eight years of service with Gulf Oil.
George is survived by his daughter, Becky Fussell of Port Neches; son, Louis Fussell and his wife, Lorraine, of Deer Park; sister, Kay Fussell McGee of Pascagoula, Mississippi; brother, Roy Fussell and his wife, Bebe, of Pascagoula, Mississippi; grandson, William Fussell of Deer Park; and granddaughter, Samantha Fussell of Deer Park.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Melba Faye Fussell; parents; stepfather, E. Rutledge; and brother, Ray Fussell.
A gathering of Mr. Fussell’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2015, at First Christian Church, 5856 9th avenue, Port Arthur, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
