Doretha Hawklis was granted her angel wings on Friday, June 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born to the union of Albert and Ruth Anderson on December 2, 1930 in Goudeau, LA.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Wilbert Hawklis and her sister Genevieve Lavalais.
Affectionately known as “Doe” she was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and attended Thomas Boulevard Church of Christ.
Cherishing her memory is her sister Pauline Andris of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Kevin Foots and Yolanda Foots of Houston, TX; great-granddaughter, Carolyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and her church family.
A celebration of life homegoing service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Thomas Blvd. Church of Christ with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Bro. Frank Hamilton will officiate.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
