Groves Police calls, May 20 through May 26

Groves Police responded to the following calls from May 20 through May 26

Wednesday, May 20
• Cigarettes were stolen from a building in the 6900 block of 32nd Street. Officers were called to an alarm at the building and discovered a vent had been removed where the suspect gained entry.
• A pottery kiln and paint were stolen from the 3300 block of Cleveland.

Thursday, May 21
• A 25-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Port Neches Police Department warrants in the 5400 block of West Parkway following a traffic stop for a violation.
• A 50-inch and 36-inch flat screen TVs, a sofa and loveseat and a recliner were stolen from a home in the 6600 block of 32nd Street. A 2013 Ford was also damaged.
• A citizen reported receiving a call from a person identifying himself as a New York police officer, saying this person’s grandson was under arrest and he needed a bond posted of $1,900 sent by Western Union.
• A disturbance was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A vehicle disturbance was reported in the 5100 block of Woodlawn.

Friday, May 22
• A disturbance was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A 23-year-old male was arrested for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and two outstanding warrants in the 5500 block of 39th Street.

Saturday, May 23
• A subject used force to enter a business in the 6900 block of 32nd Street. Once inside the building, the actor stole cigarettes and tobacco.
• A 17-year-old male was arrested for no operator’s License and a 17-year-old female were arrested for possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Texas 73.
• Several items of lawn equipment were stolen from a utility trailer parked in the 4500 block of Lee Street.
• A Chevrolet Cobalt vehicle was stolen from the 3600 block of Canal. The vehicle was later recovered in Nederland.
• A 29-year-old male was arrested for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Center Street.

Sunday, May 24
• A disturbance was reported in the 7100 block of Howe.
• A 2006 Hyundai Tucson SUV was stolen from a parking lot in the 4900 block of Twin City Highway.
• An assault was reported in the 7100 block of Howe.
• A 32-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants  after officers were called to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Allison.
• The driver of a vehicle struck a concrete culvert in the 6500 block of Monroe and then left the vehicle and fled the scene.

Monday, May 25
• A 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was stolen from the 6300 block of Dave.
• A 34-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of 39th Street.
• A 25-year-old female was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding Groves warrants after a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Main Avenue.
• An assault was reported in the 3100 block of Allison.
• A stolen dirt bike was recovered in the area of Montrose and North Street.
• Cash was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6900 block of 39th Street.

Tuesday, May 26
• An assault was reported in the 7000 block of Henry.
• A disturbance was reported in the 3000 block of Elm.
• A room in the 5200 block of East Parkway was damaged.
• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
• A report of two Pit Bull dogs at large and a dog bite was reported in the 2600 block of Pearl.
• Two males wearing white T-shirts were seen entering a garage in the 3200 block of Boyd and stealing two bicycles.
• A purse was stolen from a locker at a business in the 4900 block of Twin City Hwy.
