Mr. Joseph Parker, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the age of 94. He was a native of Marksville, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Port Arthur, Texas where he was a pillar of the community. He retired from Chevron Oil Refinery (formerly Gulf Oil Refinery) where he served for 44 1/2 years and worked diligently as an entrepreneur in automotive care.
A visitation is scheduled from 9:00am to 10:00am, preceding funeral service on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park (Cemetery) under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Survivors of Joseph Parker, Jr. are children, Constance Parker of Houston, TX, Joseph Parker of Port Arthur, TX, Gwendolyn Simon of Port Arthur, TX, Alvin Parker of Port Arthur, TX, Victor Parker of Port Arthur, TX, Brenda Senigal of Houston, TX, Minister Renee’ Guillory of Houston, TX, Don Parker of Port Arthur, TX, and Dr. Marilyn Parker of Houston, TX, sisters, Lottie Mae Reado of Port Arthur, TX and Elnora Comeaux of Houston, TX, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, goddaughter, Carolyn Gunner and friends. Preceded in death are wife, Mildred Detiege Parker, children, Cynthia Parker and Ronald Parker, father and mother, Joseph Parker, Sr. and Elnora Parker, siblings, William Parker, Annie Johnson, Selma Hardage, Geneva Parker, Beulah Carriere and Jessie Mae Beckett.
