Sis. Barbara Ann Pierre-Harrison was born August 15, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas.  Barbara was reared under the very capable parentage of her father, Deloyd Parker, Sr. and Ruby Lee Parker, who preceded her in death.  Barbara settled in Houston, Texas for several years where she worked tirelessly with such organizations as Volunteers in Service to America, (VISTA), Community Development and Operation PAL. Barbara is a charter member and co-founder of The SHAPE Community Center Inc. and original coordinator of the Center’s Daughters of Africa, (DOA) program. She also assisted with SHAPE’s free breakfast and summer enrichment programs.

Sis Barbara moved back to Port Arthur for her remaining years where she continued to share her love for the Lord by establishing and coordinating praise and worship programs in her living community.  With the help of her daughter, Monica, and many prayer warriors, Barbara fought a gallant fight against a health issue far longer than those of the medical profession ever imagined.

Sis. Barbara made her final transition on February 9, 2014.  She was preceded in death by her son, Floyd Douglas, her brother, Richard Parker, and her mother, Ruby Lee Parker.  She leaves to celebrate her life and her light,  her daughter, Monica Frilot, son, Peter Sinegal, Jr., father, Deloyd Parker Sr., brothers Waverly Pierre (Nicole), Aubry Pierre (Cynthia), Deloyd Parker Jr., Terry Parker (Terri),  Karl  Parker (Carol) and Kenneth Parker (Cheryl), and sisters Dr. Jean Perez and Chyrel Parker Hudson; along with her lifelong friend, Janet Hemphill. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
