Gerald Jay Trahan, 61, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

He was born on February 18, 1952 to Thelma Pearl Dewees Trahan and Frozie Joseph Trahan, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Gerald was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator with over 35 years of service.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.

   He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Trahan of Port Arthur, Texas, his step-son, Rusty Campbell and his wife Deanna of Groves, Texas, two grandchildren, Chelsea Campbell and Taylor Campbell, his sister, Barbara “Jodi” Trahan Martin and her husband David of Fannett, Texas, his brothers, Frozie Joseph Trahan, Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas, Claude Lynn Trahan and his wife Dena of The Woodlands, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Funeral  Service to be held at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
