Nancy L. Jones, 84, of Port Arthur, TX passed away on January 4, 2014 at Cypress Glen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Beaumont, Texas, a long-time resident of Port Arthur and a member of Barnes Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a long time employee of Luby’s Cafeteria and also a retiree of Wee Care Daycare Center.

   Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Jones Sr. of 68 years; father Rev. Edward Collins; mother Lillian Collins; sisters Edna Batiste, Martha Mae Horn, Ira Dell Hunter, and brother Rev. Obadiah Collins.

   She is survived by children; Alvin Jones Jr., Dwight Jones, Alfreda Jefferson, Sharon DeJohn, Madeline Champ, and Chatelle Paul all of Port Arthur, TX, Jacqueline Harris and Karl Jones Sr., both of Houston, TX, and a host of grandchildren, great – grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special cousins Bessie Robertson and other family and friends.

   The family of Nancy Jones wishes to thank Cypress Glen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their service and all who cared for her in her time of need.

   A viewing will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Barnes Memorial United Methodist Church with services beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Donald Bonnie will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
