Gene Earl LeDoux

   Gene Earl LeDoux, 77, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home in Magnolia Springs after battling cancer for several months.  Services will be Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Magnolia Springs United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. with fellowship to follow at the Church. Family will greet the public from 5:00 p.m. until service time.  

   He was born December 12, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Ovide and Pauline LeDoux.  He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1955.  He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served 4 years overseas. He then attended the Police Academy and the Southern Police Institute where he graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. He then married Carolyn McLeod on December 8, 1961 at his parent’s home.  They resided in Port Arthur where he worked as a Motorcycle/Narcotics Officer for the Port Arthur Police Department for 17 years.  In 1978 they moved to Port Neches where he went to work for American Petro-Fina Refinery.  In 1984 they moved to Magnolia Springs where he went to work for Jasper Newton Electric Co-op as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 11 years until he took a disability retirement after being electrocuted in March of 1995. He was currently employed at Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy delivering medication until he became ill in May of 2013.

   He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn V. LeDoux, two daughters, Rene’ Kelley of Jasper and Becky LeDoux of Jasper, and two granddaughters, Landrie Hope Jordan and Kathryn Rene’ Kelley.
