Joyce Marie Soelv Parson was born August 14, 1951 in Port Arthur to the late Charlie and Bessie Arrington. Her father later remarried and she was raised her loving and devoted mother Mrs. Mary Arrington.

   She departed life on February 18, 2013 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

   She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Bessie Arrington and her husband, Ramon “Jimmy” Soelv.

   Left to cherish her memory are her mother Mrs. Mary Arrington of Port Arthur; her sisters Charlie Ruth Green and Johnnie Mae Green of Port Arthur, TX; a brother J.B. Arrington (Vickie) of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter, Angeline Soelv and four grandchildren of Abbeville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that loved and adored her.

   A visitation will be held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 549 W. Gulfway Dr. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
