A 26-year-old Orange, Texas man has been indicted for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.       

Justin Samuel Mink was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 28, 2012, and charged with bank robbery.

According to court documents, on Sep. 6, 2012, Mink is alleged to have entered the Firestone Community Federal Credit Union on MacArthur Drive in West Orange, Texas, wearing over-alls, gloves, and a mask and carrying a shotgun.  Mink is alleged to have then “racked” the shotgun while demanding all money from all three bank tellers on duty.  Mink fled the credit union with $48,265.00.  Mink was identified as the bank robber through citizen tips to law enforcement.  Individuals reported that Mink had confessed to robbing the bank and identified a waterfront location where the shotgun had been disposed of.  Law enforcement divers have since recovered parts of that weapon from the reported location.

If convicted, Mink faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

This case is being investigated by FBI and the Orange Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Craft.
