Fred Provost of Port Arthur died Monday, January 2, 2012.  Born in Groves, Texas on August 15, 1946, he was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur.

   Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the viewing from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

   He was preceded in death by his parents Clemille and Louise Provost; brother, Louis Provost; and sister, Dorothy Ardoin.

   Survivors include his siblings, Clara Thomas of Augusta, GA, James B. Ardoin of Houston, TX, Christopher Hilstock, Jr., Mary Lou Provost of Port Arthur, Alma Provost, Nancy Crowley, Lou Ella Black all of Orange, TX, Clarence Provost of Beaumont, TX, Elizabeth Taylor of Killeen, TX and Lorenda Thomas of Elton, LA; best friend, Leroy “Pin” Howard, Jr. of Port Arthur; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
