William E. “Bill” Savant

    William E. “Bill” Savant, Jr., 77, of Brookeland, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Harbor Hospice, in Beaumont. Born February 1, 1934, to Lucy Johnson and William Earl Savant, Sr. in Groves, he was a resident of the Mid-County area most of his life. Bill was a retired electrician for IBEW #479 and was employed for over forty-two years. He enjoyed fishing, taking photos, working in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved pet, Daisy.

    Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Cheryl Ann Savant of Brookeland; children, Linda Lovelace and her husband, Marty of Nederland, Robert Savant of Corrigan, and Debbie Redding and her husband, Pat of Silsbee; grandchildren, Brandon Lovelace, Kendra Savant, Christopher Lovelace and his wife, Meredith, Jessica Redding, Alicia Savant, James Savant, and Lindsey Redding; and ten great grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas E. Savant; and sister, Lynn Otto.

   His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland, with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.
