PAPD investigating homicide

Port Arthur Police are investigating a reported homicide which took place early Wednesday afternoon.
PAPD officers responded to the 1300 block of 9th avenue, in reference to a male subject who was bleeding and unresponsive, according to a press release. An unidentified female, who was hysterical and unable to give many details, had called in about the victim. Officers were able to locate the caller at the Wellington Manor Apartments on 9th avenue.
The caller then directed officers to an apartment in the complex, where a black male, aged 27 and a Port Arthur resident, was found deceased.
Investigators and the Crime Scene Unit arrived on scene and began to process the scene and to identify and interview witnesses. In addition, Justice of the Peace Marc Derouen and BJ Transport service were contacted.
