GROVES — The Bridge City major boys had to rally through the consolation bracket, but punched its ticket to sectionals with a 5-2 victory Saturday over Groves National in the District 32 tournament.

Bridge City will play in the sectional tournament next, which is set to begin Wednesday at a site to be determined.

Kyle Bergeron picked up the victory for Bridge City. Bergeron was also one of three Bridge City players to hit home runs, joining Joseph Adams and Tyler Woods.

Local little leagues will see two different sectional tournaments also starting Wednesday. The senior boys (15-16 year old) are hosting a sectional with the games played at Bridge City High School.

The 11-year old boys will also host a sectional tournament, with those games split between Nederland Little League and Groves National Little League. Bridge City is also the District 32 representative in that tournament.
