Frances Jeanne Teel (Fried)

Frances Jeanne Teel (Fried), 77, passed away Friday, the 24th of December 2010, in Houston. She was born on the 13th of January 1933, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Marie Louise and Henry A. Fried.
She attended nursing school at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur before moving to Houston where she embraced the city as her home. She began work as a nurse at Hermann Hospital but spent the majority of her career working in the offices of Dr. James Skelton, Sr., who became a lifelong friend. She was a dedicated nurse, loved by patients and doctors alike. She was a devoted member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was known for her charity work with the Wednesday Charity Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Louise and Henry A. Fried, her loving husband, Paul Herman Teel, and her sisters, June Marie Fried and Mary Louise Rosen. She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Anne Lyday; her many cousins, nieces, and nephews, her family at St. Michael Catholic Church, and many lifelong friends including Eugenia Swyden, Shirley Payne, and Susie Holmes.
Her family would like to thank Sonal and Venay Parikh for providing loving care and companionship during the last few years of her life.
Friends and family gathered for a visitation from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 28th of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where recitation of the rosary commenced at six o’clock.
The interment service was conducted on Wednesday, the 29th of December, at the Teel Family Cemetery in Saratoga, Texas.
