PA Church’s Chicken robbed late Saturday

Port Arthur police are investigating a late-night robbery Saturday at Church’s Chicken, 1849 Jefferson Dr.

According to a statement issued by the Port Arthur Police Department, at 11:44 p.m. police received a call indicting there had been a robbery at the restaurant.

Witnesses said two men had entered the building through an unsecured rear door. One of the men was welding a knife and ordered the manager into the office area. There, the culprit took the day’s receipts and the contents of the safe.

PAPD officers found evidence indicating the men fled the area on foot in an easterly direction.

The incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division.
