Two men are behind bars in connection with the murder of a Beaumont man.

Eugene Wilson, 25, of Beaumont, turned himself in to law enforcement about 1 a.m. Jan. 1. He bonded out on $100,000 bond set by Justice of the Peace Vi McGinnis.

About 1:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, officers with the U.S. Marshal Service and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Beaumont Police Department, arrested Corey Spencer, 24, of Beaumont. Officers received information that Spencer was in the 3900 block of Treadway. Spencer surrendered when he saw officers moving in to arrest him, according to Beaumont Police Department.

Spencer was transported to the station to speak with detectives and then transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Spencer was booked for murder with a $100,000 also set by McGinnis.

Wilson and Spencer are suspects in the Dec. 27, 2008 murder of Jacobi Daugherty at Magnolia and Elm.
