A fight turned brawl ended Thursday night with a man shot twice in his upper body.

Port Arthur Police Sgt. F. Ramirez said the incident occurred around 7:56 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of 12th Street.

When officers arrived at the scene they discovered a male victim had been shot twice, once in the upper left arm and once in his back. Witnesses at the scene gave officers information that led to the arrest of the suspect.

The Port Arthur Police Department Major Crime Team is continuing to investigate the case.
