A 23-year-old Beaumont man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on various narcotics charges on Sunday night.

At about 7:20 p.m. Sunday, officers were at the Castle Motel on N. 11th Street when they smelled an odor coming from a room. According to a Beaumont Police Department press release, the officers gained consent to search the room and discovered the man processing powder cocaine into crack cocaine.

It appeared the man and woman had already processed 67 grams of the 117 grams of cocaine into crack. The police also seized a small amount of marijuana, a microwave oven used to process the illegal drugs, beakers, scales and more than $4,000 in cash.
