Seven teams from across the region will compete in the 2011 Governors Cup in Beaumont this weekend. Tickets start at $15 each and the doors open at 7 a.m. each day. Teams competing include the Spindletop Roller Girls from Southeast Texas, as well as teams from Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans.

Located inside Whiskey River in Beaumont, The Back Room is one of Beaumont’s best kept secrets for local, regional and national touring bands.

It’s a great weekend for rodeo action, and that is just what is on tap tonight at Nutty Jerry’s in Winnie as Don Gay’s Championship Bullride is back. The doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are $15 and $20 at the door for ages 18 and older.
It’s live music from Cody Canada and The Departed tonight. Fans may recognize this talented singer and guitarist from his more well known group, Cross Canadian Ragweed, so fans know a great show is in store from Canada’s new project. Tickets to the show are $15-$25 each.
Then, this Wednesday night, one of rock music’s most famous bands returns to Southeast Texas for the first time in nearly six years as Styx performs at 7 p.m., Wednesday, inside Nutty Jerry’s.
The band is known for an arsenal of radio staples, such as “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Babe,” “Lady,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” “Grand Illusion” and many more. Tickets are $65-$25 each and can be purchased by calling 877-643-7508 or online at www.nuttyjerrys.com.
A special rock show is on tap tonight in downtown Beaumont as the Star Bar, located on Crockett Streets, welcomes local rock band Angel Siren and national touring band, Cage 9, which features members of the well known band Powerman 5000, to town. Admission is $5 at the door.
Dixie Dance Hall
The Randy Rogers Band returns to Southeast Texas for a showcase next Thursday night at the Dixie Dance Hall in downtown Beaumont. Advance tickets are on sale now at all Florida Tans locations and online at www.dixiedancehall.com for $20. Ages 18 and older are welcome to attend and admission is charged at the door.
