Monster trucks, music and theater make for a great weekend

Take a trip to Nederland this Saturday night and stop by Jake Place’s on Spurlock Road for a great night of karaoke with hostess Joyce Rainey. Admission is free for ages 21 and older only. Call 409-721-5852 for information.

Pine Tree Lodge

It’s live music on the patio from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the Pine Tree Lodge in LaBelle as the Port Arthur Playboys are back. Visit for more information.

Larry’s French Market

Larry’s French Market is the place to be for fantastic food and awesome music every weekend.

This weekend’s entertainment is provided by Jackie Caillier and Cajun Cousins, tonight, and, on Saturday, it’s the Ken Marvel Band with special guest Jivin’ Gene. Central Middle School

The Nederland Heritage Festival Country Music Show is set for 7 p.m., Saturday night at Central Middle School on 17th Street in Nederland. Tickets are $4 in advance at The Candle Cottage and the NHF office on Boston Avenue. Admission is $5 at the door on Saturday.

Pate Tatum and Pure Texas will be the house band for Saturday’s showcase. Other performances will include Nadia Cowart, Shanna Ferro, Mark Griffin, Skeeter Jones, Brintney Reynolds, Kasey Gunter, Brian Smith, Mike Tobias and Halie Venable.

Big Nasty’s

Loads of fun are in store for guests at Big Nasty’s in Bridge City this weekend.

Tonight’s entertainment features karaoke with hostess Joyce Rainey, while Saturday marks the long awaited return of Scott McGill and Old Dog Mac for a great evening of old school rock and roll. Admission is free and ages 21 and older are invited. Call 409-697-3053 for details.
